My Dream, My Future :))

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.
I always dreamed of becoming a successful yet simple girl. I always wanted of becoming a woman with a better status in life. But I cannot do all of these without my determination to change myself into a better one.

This, therefore, is a faded dream of the time when I went down into the dust and noise of the Eastern market-place and with my brain and muscles, with sweat and constant thinking, made others see my visions coming true. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible

I am an ICT Student :)

Unlike information technology (IT) that makes use of computers and the internet to handle and store information, information and communication technology (ICT) is a technical term that includes IT as well as telephonic, broadcast media, and other kinds of audio and video processing and transmission. Hence, ICT is a more general term that focuses on the role of communication in information technology. Telephone networks are merged with computer networks and necessary software through a single cabling or link system to progress communication smoothly and conveniently. As such, information and communication technology brings along several wealthy new opportunities and careers to explore.
Inclusion of ICT in the school curriculum helps students to make effective use of resources and development of students’ interests in studies. With the use of high-quality standard simulation for demonstrations, students can be encouraged to take keen participation in studies. As a result, they can achieve better grades in other subjects, apart from information technology (IT) only, and determine the different ways of using the requisite information in specific ways. Therefore, ICT becomes all the more important from an early age so as to familiarize the students with it.

Change is the only constant

We must learn to view change as a natural phenomenon, to anticipate it and to plan for it. The future is ours to channel in the direction we want to go... we must continually ask ourselves, "What will happen if...?" or better still, "How can we make it happen?"
Change is the only permanent thing in this world. Everything in life is connected somehow. You may have to dig deep to find it but its there. Everything is the same even though it’s different. Somehow everything connects back with your life. The faces in certain places may be different, but the situation is the same. Irony is a hidden factor that creeps around us in life, letting its presence felt only after it has left. Picture back to a year ago and the situation you were in. Look at how things are different yet somehow everything it still in someway cognate. Everything connects together to form the balance of life, to maintain structure. Change is and always will be inevitable, but everything is relative, and all the moments and times in your life will come back around again, you just might find yourself on the other side of the coin. Things are always changing, as fast as everything stays the same.
It is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so. You feel like running, but life is on a stroll. This is how God does things.

KANNAWIDAN: The Ylocos Festival

The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the province’s 193rd year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818 separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte. Prior to this date, the stretch of Bangui in Ilocos Norte down to Luna La Union is called Ylocos which is a term to refer to the coastal inhabitants. It literally meant “from the lowlands”.
Ilocos Sur especially Vigan is branded as the Heart of Ilocandia by the Philippine Historical Committee. It’s a province very rich in culture and heritage. Kannawidan means traditions and this province got to showcase all what she has. On January 31 to February 6, 2011 several activities were lined up for the celebration.

There was the tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur which is so fascinating. They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes. Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts. There was even eating contests of these delicacies of Ilocos Sur as well as basi drinking contest. Traditional games were played and bingo as well. There were Sarsuela and Komedya Ilocana which were shown. Choir competition was also held.
A battle of brains and beauty was witnessed during the Saniata ti Ilocos Sur pageant. Art exhibitions and competitions were also conducted. On the spot painting was done by the Saturday group from Manila while The Ilocandia Photographic Society put up its photography exhibit at the Archbishop’s Palace.

It was a fun-filled week of celebration of the Kannawidan Festival in Ilocos Sur.

Keeping in Mind our Mother Tongue

As time passes by, lots of people don’t know the real stories behind them. They don’t know how to look back where they truly began. They don’t know how to love their own culture, traditions, fashions, and even their own dialect. They don’t know how to use it.
Here in our province, we tend to use English or Tagalog instead of our own dialect which is the Iloco. Many ilocanos are denying their oewn belongings. They adopt the belongings of others. They are more likely to love the belongings of others instead of their own. Are you thinking this is right? Of course, it is not. We must be satisfied with what God had given to us. Not for adopting what he had given to others. Many Ilocanos are denying  the fact that they are Ilocanos so they are more likely to use the dialect of others.
Keep in touch of what we have. Love our own. And we must use our mother tongue frequently.

New Year, New Me?

Another wonderful year had gone and many had changed. Many had just past and many still remained. But the important thing is love still remains in the hearts of those who believe.
Year two thousand eleven was just like a wonderful dream that happened. I gained a lot of friends even though I’ve lost some. I feel loved that completes my year so much. I feel cared for it warms my heart. And I feel blessed for it gave me enough courage and determination to stand to be strong always and to feel that God is just always at my side to guide and protect me in every simple thing I do, does, did and will. This year 2012, I can’t promise everyone to change myself as what they had seen me before, but then again, I can still be the one whom they like for, they for and they love for. Being at that situation makes me feel complete so nothing’s going to change. If I will, it is just a part of growing up, it is just normal and nothing to be worried about. I can still be the one whom they will care, like and love for.
It is not New Year that will encourage me to change what they hate me the most; it is me, myself alone if I want to.

True Essence of Christmas

Every year more than 400 million people celebrate Xmas around the world that makes Xmas one of the world’s biggest religious and commercial festivities. In approximately year 300 A.D., the birthday of Jesus was determined to be on December 25, the day that has been celebrated from then till this very day. The celebration on the 25th of December starts with Christmas Eve, the evening of December 24.
The religious festival is originally a blend of pagan customs. The Romans held a festival on December 25 called Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, "The birthday of the unconquered sun.” Pagan Scandinavia celebrated a winter festival called Yule, held in late December to early January. However, it is uncertain exactly why December 25 became associated with the birth of Jesus since the Old Testament doesn’t mention a specific date of the event.
Christmas is best when we know how to love, share and forgive for it is the true essence it. Love as if you’ve never been hurt before. Share as if you have a lot of blessings to give. And forgive as if you’ve never been made a mistake. Merry Christmas!

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

When God created humans, he didn’t created neither rich nor poor people. He didn’t create neither engineers, doctors, lawyers, teachers nor farmers. Instead, He created humans equally. No human above and no human below. He had given humans with equal rights and with equal opportunities to uplift their life that God had given to them from the start.
But in our situation now, I am very much disappointed. Some people are unfair. They treat other people unequal. They act as if they have the highest position in our country. They act as is they are the richest people ever existed. They act as if they are higher than others. People are so selfish this time. They are self-centred. They don’t care about others if they know that it is for their own betterment.
In this case, would you dare to do something for the betterment of all people? Would you sacrifice something for the betterment of this unequal treatment of others? If you determined to, you can, but if not, you can’t.

What Difference Can We Make?

All the things even the impossible ones always starts in you, in ourselves. At the start of our lives, we are the ones who made it to what we are now. We are the drivers of our own journey in life. And yet, we are the only ones who will make such changes or differences in it.
All of us can make big differences. Is it impossible? Of course, it’s not. All things in this world are possible if we believe in God and in ourselves alone. In our own believes and in our own ways, we can make changes. If we determined to do it, we can do even more.
I can make differences for my future to become brighter. I can change for the betterment of our country or even for the whole mother earth. I believe that I can do some great differences in my own simple ways. I can drive my life to the journey of success. I can be better for my dreams to happen and for me to achieve my simple goals in life. I can be the best of me if I want to, if I determined to do so, and if I love to.
It is not difficult to change. For the betterment of all the people, share your knowledge about things that will help a lot for everybody.

Climate Change

We are lucky enough for at once, God created us to see the beauty of life. He created us to see the beauty of nature as He created. He created us to care, love and protect the true beauty of nature. And because of it, we should be very thankful for He had given us a chance to live in His beautiful created paradise, which is our mother earth.
As time passes by, people are becoming so abusive. They had forgotten their mission here in earth. They had forgotten why God created humans. They had forgotten to be thankful for the life that God gave to them. Two thousand year ago, our mother earth is a perfect place to stay. It’s perfect place for all the creatures of God. But because of those very abusive people, mother earth is now getting worse. Our mother earth loses now its original beauty.  This appears now the problem. Global warming which causes climate change to happen.
Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions or the distribution of events around that average. Climate change may be limited to a specific region or may occur across the whole Earth.
This alarming problem of our environment is because of humans who are too careless, too lazy, and not responsible enough in taking good care of our mother earth. We should not wait until such time that our mother earth will totally lost its beauty. Let’s not wait until such time that earth will now gone. There is still time for us to bring back the old times, where earth is still in its original beauty. Time is running, so we must do an action now. Save mother earth.

reflection:)

Managing my time is not easy. It encouraged me to be more focused with my studies, to be more serious with my studies.
No time for enjoyment. No time for bonding with friends. The Schedule this second grading period is so hectic. We need to strive harder to achieve our goals. Challenges are just normal. Just take it and find ways to solve it. I’ll just do my part to make the best of it.
I just hoping that it would be better next grading period.

English Proficiency!

English Proficiency?
As time passes by, many are trying to eradicate the use of proper English language in our country. Yes, we are Filipinos, I know that it is not our national language; I know that it is not our own language but it is the international language. We are also in the position to use it properly. Not by changing the spelling of each word. By using what we call the “JEJEMON” style. Many Filipinos are using it, not only the teen agers. What benefit can you get in using that JEJEMON style? How come that instead of using the proper English language, you’ve choose to use that barbaric style? You are using that in texting, chatting, speaking, and even in writing. Can’t you see the effect in using that? That’s why here in the Philippines; we have an English subject so that we can try to communicate with the other countries. But when you are using that, can they understand you? Of course not!
Use the proper English language in texting, chatting, writing and most of all, in speaking.

Chemergy: Chemistry and Science Clubbing in Synergy

Maybe there's a big question mark in your minds that asking what does the Science Club theme is all about? “Chemergy: Chemistry and Science Clubbing in Synergy”. They have one mind, one body, and one soul. They have one common goal to achieve; to make them in action.
What you all know about science is that, it is a knowledge attained through study or practice. But how come you cannot apply this in your everyday lives? We are living here because of science. From the food we eat, from the clothes we wear, from the houses we live, it all came from science. Science is the solution of all the problems in our world. From the disasters, sicknesses, its science that matters most. Many believe that science is the reason why all of these are happening in our world. Many believe that science is the destroyer of our world. Don’t they know that science is the cure for all of those disasters? Oh come on! Science improves our world. Science makes our world.
Let us not stop in promoting the chemistry and science in synergy. With our hearts, we can do these.

From the bottom of my heart, YOU ARE MY HERO.

Great teachers empathize with kids, respect them, and believe that each one has something special that can be built upon. The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth.
Teachers are great. No one else can beat the love that they are giving to us as their students. They inspire me in every pieces of advice that they are giving. Makes me smile every time they are giving lessons because of the mistakes we’ve done so that next time we know already what to do. They made me believe that there’s always sunshine after the rain. Those problems are not the reasons to give up. Instead, stand up and face it. And someday, you’ll understand the purpose of God in giving those challenges in your life. Teachers play an important role in every student like me. They built me to become a better person and a better role model to everyone. Teachers are our second parents. So we must love them as we love are real parents. We don’t know the love, care and sacrifices they are giving to us just like our real parents. They gave their very best for the sake of their students which they consider as their real children.
Love the teachers even though it’s not Teacher’s day. Be good to them. Care for them. And try to understand them every time they are tired of doing everything for us. I salute all great and loving teachers for being there. I salute all of you for being patient enough to teach us in every subject of life. No matter what happens, there you are, still hoping that children are really the hope of the nation. And there you are, still hoping that every child have their own future.
HAPPY TEACHER’S DAY! AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL THE TIME! :’)

You're My One and Only! :))

Of all the people that I will encounter in a lifetime, you are the only one that I will never leave or lose. To all the questions of my life, you are the only answer. To all the problems of my life, you are the only solution.
God ask no man whether he/she will accept life. That is not the choice. One must take it. The only choice is how? To live is not enough. We have to take part in what is good and do our best. And who knows what's the best for us? She is the one who gave birth to us. Who sacrifices everything for us. Who gives all her best just to sustain our needs. They are our Mothers who never leave us. They are our Mothers who never get tired because of us.And they are our Mothers who never get mad of us. SHE IS MY MOTHER WHO KNOWS WHAT IS THE BEST FOR ME. Mothers are the best of everything in this world. And I am very thankful because I have one, who loves me very much:) Who considers me as her one and only BABYgirl. I am very proud of having a Mom like her. She gives everything just to make us happy. She gives color to my life. And I love her, very much:))
Above all, no doubt, she is MY ONE AND ONLY. Nothing else can compare the love and happiness that I have because of her. MY WONDERFUL MOM:)

Nutrition Month 2011: Isulong ang BREASTFEEDING: Tama, Sapat at Eksklusibo!

Breastfeeding is important for the babies. Some babies die after birth because they were not breastfed immediately.
Breastfeeding should be initiated at once for about 30 minutes after normal delivery and about 3 - 4 hours after delivery by caesarian section. Infants who were given early breastfeeding will have the opportunity to be more successful and sustain exclusive breastfeeding. Evidence on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and early initiation includes: Babies who were not breastfed in the first 6 months of their lives are 25 times more likely to die than those who experienced exclusive breastfeeding from the time they were born. The timing of initiation of breastfeeding is important as there is a higher risk of death among infants with longer delay in the initiation of breastfeeding. Hospitalized low birth weight Infants who were fed with formula milk had 4 times the incidence of serious illness compared to those infants who were breastfed. And lastly, breastfeeding not only saves babies from death, but also provides long-term benefits.  Breastfed babies do better in school cognitive tests by as much as 4.9 points.  There is a positive association of breastfeeding with educational attainment.
So Mommies, give your baby a right, enough and exclusive way of breastfeeding them.

MAKE AN ACTION NOW! :)

Dear Mr. President,
Greetings! First of all, I wanna congratulate you for winning as the Prsident of the Republic of the Philippines. I know that you have the hardest task in our country, but you must know what are your major priorities.
First, in making our country a progressive one. Our country now has a lot of problems. Example, the overwhelming population of our country, problems on education, problems on those corrupt officials, and many other major problems in our country. In the overwhelming population of our country, you should make a way to encourage every couple to have their family planning first before doing something that can affect our population. I know that this overwhelming population of our country is because of those people who have nothing to do in their lives. What if you'll give chances to easily find their jobs? So that they don't just lay on their beds and do everything they want without thinking what will be their future in case they can be able to make a baby. In the problems on education, many youth are being miserable now because they don't have enough money to use in going to school, in buying their nedds, etc. But now, why are you adding again another years of entering to the school? If now, they can't afford to go to school, how much more if you added again another years? Then, more and more youth are lacking their education. So, what will happen to our country then? There will be no more youth going to school to have their education, instead, they will become street children who have nothing to eat, and nothing to do but to ask money to other people and nothing has left to them. Lastly, the problem on those corrupt officials. What if you'll give them punishments? So that they don't abuse the people in their community who are giving their best efforts to make their community a better one. But them? What are they doing? They are just destroying the efforts of the people in their community. Instead of doing their best, they are doing the worst in them. If you'll be giving a punishments for those kind of officials, maybe our country now is a progressive one. Maybe no government officials will do those worst things again in their community.
All these are only examples of the problems in our country. So, stand now, face the problems in our country and try to give them solutions. My purpose for saying this is not to insult you but to give some advice and comments on your administration.
Hoping for your willingness to serve us. THANK YOU!

                                                                                                                          Respectfully yours,
                                                                                                                          MEDIATRIX R. JAVIER
